Dialysis:

A state-of-the-art hemodialysis clinic is on site.

Very often, the hardest part of living with kidney failure is adhering to a strict schedule of life-sustaining dialysis treatment. Dialysis slowly filters the patient’s blood, removing harmful wastes to keep the proper balance of chemicals in the body.  A typical dialysis schedule calls for treatments three times a week, with each visit lasting three to five hours. Add transportation to and from a dialysis clinic, and the difficulty in maintaining this kind of schedule becomes apparent.

Fortunately, our in-house Dialysis Clinic is open six days a week, and operates four shifts per day for the comfort and convenience of our residents. Here they receive treatment in the friendly confines of our home, where they can enjoy built-in televisions equipped with DVD players and pillow speakers, a well-stocked DVD movie library and a calm relaxed atmosphere.

The clinic is supervised by board-certified nephrologists, a team of experienced renal care nurses, dieticians and social workers.

DOJ is one of the few health care facilities in the country that can accommodate bariatric patients who also need dialysis and ventilator-dependent respiratory care.
