Other Services:

Hospice Service with loving kindness.

In contracting with Hospice of New York, we provide “end of life” care on premises at DOJ. With gentle and loving care, hospice nurses and nurse’s aides attend to the special needs of our hospice patients. We help them manage pain, provide spiritual guidance and services (for all religions and denominations), deliver medical care and nutritional diets. To the best of their abilities, our hospice patients participate in all of DOJ’s social, cultural and recreational activities – always receiving emotional support and caring attention.

Mental health services to help residents cope with life’s issues.

In order to help DOJ residents and community members cope with life issues, a team of Ph.D psychologists is available on premises in coordination with Park Avenue Psych & Medical Services. These professionals are experienced in dealing with mental and emotional problems associated with aging, sickness and change. These services play an important role in our care and treatment of residents and non-residents who need medical, social as well as psychological help.

Wound Care that promotes healing.

Patients sometimes enter DOJ with decubiti (bed sore) wounds. Besides personal and expert nursing care, DOJ is equipped to treat this condition with specialty wound care beds, including Clinitron Beds, Zone-Aire beds, pressure reducing mattresses and more.
